According to MLFootball, former Gannon quarterback Kory Curtis worked out in private with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
However, Curtis will make more stops during his NFTheL stop after that. Instead, Curtis will head to Seattle for Seahawks rookie minicamp for a tryout, which could interfere with his ability to join the Steelers or tryout for the team if the are interested in him.
Curtis is a former Ohio State quarterback but thrived up in Erie with Gannon. Over the process he has garnered interest, and has displayed a strong arm in his workouts with teams like the Las Vegas Raiders and Dallas Cowboys.
Curtis threw for 5134 yards and an amazing 47 touchdowns to 11 interceptions in his two seasons with Gannon. Curtis began his career at Ohio State, moved to Bryant, and then again to Gannon.
However, he now has looks throughout the NFL because to his improved physical tools. After adding Kyle Allen, the Steelers now have three quarterbacks after looking at quarterbacks to bolster their roster.
However, Curtis, a rookie, would be a good choice for the fourth quarterback position. Gannon and Curtis last played together in 2022.
Quarterbacks coach Tom Arth was dispatched to Mobile for his pro day, and another man on their level of interest is South Alabama quarterback Carter Bradley. Bradley was the group’s unknown, a guy from the Senior Bowl.
He plays with arm arrogance and has some surprise zip on his ball if you are not used to watching him. However, it can result in some perplexing choices, as his front leg’s mechanics are a complete mess, which causes balls to fly across the field.
In any case, he can throw the ball all over the yard for a late-round quarterback, and those are the qualities that teams seek for in targets that late in the class. Curtis is a comparable type with excellent physical tools, and there’s a strong link there because Gannon is a somewhat local school for Pittsburgh. With the Steelers about to embark on a private workout, he is still someone to keep a careful eye on.
Due to his lack of selection in the 2023 NFL Draft as a prospect, Curtis is a free agent.
