A former starting linebacker for the Pittsburgh Steelers is joining the Denver Broncos defense.
Pittsburgh After visiting their facilities, the Denver Broncos are anticipated to add former Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Levi Wallace to their roster, as reported by NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
Wallace is traveling to Denver to see the team and probably to take part in any planned testing. If all goes according to plan, Rapoport reports that the Broncos want to sign the seasoned cornerback to a one-year contract, bringing him into the same locker room as rising sensation Patrick Surtain.
Rapoport asserts Wallace made the decision to play for defensive coordinator Vance Joseph in Denver despite having a number of free agency options.
Wallace, 28, played in 31 games, including 18 starts, during his final two seasons in Pittsburgh. When he played for the Steelers, he had six interceptions.
In 2023, Wallace and Patrick Peterson were the starting lineup, but following the rise of Joey Porter Jr., the team decided to go with the rookie as the starting quarterback.
Wallace is currently vying for a starting position in Denver, while Porter and recently acquired Donte Jackson lead the Steelers in playing.
