Tottenham urged to agree substantial sell-on fee for Djed Spence amid transfer update

John Wenham has recommended Tottenham to ask for a 40% sell-on clause in the Djed Spence discussions.

The proprietor of the respectable Spurs podcast, Lilywhite Rose, thinks the right-back might eventually be returned to the Premier League for a “huge fee.”

According to Fabricio Romano via X on June 7, negotiations between Spurs and Genoa about Spence’s deal are progressing.

Furthermore, Wenham, who is only speaking to Tottenham News, wants the North London team to guarantee that they receive a portion of any upcoming sales.

“I wouldn’t be shocked if Spence made a big money comeback to the Premier League in a few years,” remarked Hamilton.

Thus, a sell-on clause needs to be agreed upon if he is to be sold for less than £8.5 million.

Because I believe he will return to the Premier League, I hope it is the focus of the negotiations and that Tottenham will strive for a 40% share.

I believe Spence will be sold in the upcoming weeks because it’s a crucial component of the rebuild.

Tottenham and Genoa need to reach a consensus on the best potential offer for Djed Spence.

Spence’s chances of making a comeback under Ange Postecoglou appear slim, therefore a transfer out of Tottenham Hotspur Stadium might be just what the player needs. Spurs need to make sure they and Genoa reach a fair agreement, though.

Given that Spence is still only 23 years old, Genoa may be able to sell him for a profit should he have success in the Serie A.

Tottenham must thus make sure the parameters of any cut-price agreement they reach with the Italian team are favorable to them. In related Tottenham news, an international manager has been charged with bias against a particular player.
