Following a fruitful debut campaign as manager, it now seems like Ange Postecoglou is receiving the support he needs in the transfer market to help his Tottenham Hotspur team reach new heights.

Spurs ready for significant summer spending

Spurs are one of the few Premier League teams not constrained by budget heading into the summer because of Daniel Levy’s astute approach to transfers and a few significant sales in recent years.

The most recent speculations linking Spurs to moves for Barcelona teenager Mikayil Faye and Bayern Leverkusen’s Jonathan Tah suggest that the North London team is keen to bolster its defense.

With the Spurs joining the competition to sign Ivan Toney this summer, Levy also seems eager to add new attackers to N17. Given that the Brentford striker is expected to command a salary of at least £80 million, Spurs may be among the few teams with the financial resources to make such an acquisition during the window

Levy is obviously not afraid to open his wallet this summer, so it looks like Spurs may be able to get one of their top targets for a steep discount.

Levy is preparing a cut-price offer for Gallagher.

According to Pete O’Rourke of Football Insider, the Spurs will attempt to work out a low-ball agreement to sign Conor Gallagher. According to the source, as Levy plans a “early” summer transfer, Chelsea might have to accept Spurs’ “low-ball” offer of about £30 million if they continue to drive a “hard bargain.”

Spurs have had a long-standing interest in Gallagher, but this new information is a significant drop from the £50 million asking price for the 24-year-old.

Levy was able to close the purchase on the cheap because of the Blues’ continuous problems with profit and sustainability regulations. Gallagher, a graduate of Cobham, would see his sale as a necessary source of pure wealth in his side’s effort to stay out of trouble going forward.

Spurs would be receiving an England international who is more than capable of playing at the highest level if they are able to close a deal for the midfield player.Gallagher has outperformed some of the Blues’ record signings on a regular basis this season, with four goals and seven assists in all competitions.

Gallagher is the quintessential two-way midfield player; he is at ease contributing to the attack and is rarely afraid to take on the grunt work in the middle of the field. The 24-year-old’s former manager, Frank Lamaprd, noted this quality, saying of the midfielder: “He is an amazing character and big talent scoring goals from midfield.”

Without a doubt, the 24-year-old Gallagher would be a fantastic addition to Postecoglou’s team if Levy and company can close the transaction for the stated sum.
