Pat Bonner ‘can’t believe’ what Adam Idah did

With less than fifteen minutes remaining, Tony Docherty’s team got one back for Celtic, setting up a tense matchup with Dundee.

After James Forrest’s double seemed to put Celtic ahead, all Brendan Rodgers’ team needed to do was hang on to make sure a tense conclusion wasn’t in store at Dens Park.

As it occurred, Forrest was substituted, and Celtic conceded immediately after the legend exited the field of play for the second week running.

Now, while I’m not saying that Dundee’s goal was permitted because we took Forrest off the field, Pat Bonner is certain that he knows who is to blame for the difficult-to-watch last 16 minutes of the match for the Celtic fans.

Idah “out of the game” while protecting Celtic’s corners

Bonner was not thrilled with Idah’s decision-making when defending Celtic corners, despite the fact that the big Irishman has been praised for his goal-scoring prowess since joining Glasgow on loan.

Bonner stated, “I want to go back to the corner and the goal,” on the Scottish Football Podcast.

“It’s unbelievable that Adam Idah, who is six feet tall or so, has moved into the near post area. He should be able to handle the situation and pick up the six-yard box where the ball was landing.

“He was the final man to emerge.” For those corners, he’s practically out of the contest.

    ADDITIONAL CELTIC STORIES

Under Rodgers, Celtic’s defense of corners, set pieces, and any kind of crossing ball has undoubtedly been a weakness.

Our defensive shortcomings were ruthlessly shown against Aberdeen, a team that has been fighting relegation the entire season.

Hopefully, Rodgers will recognize that as an area to improve over the next four league games. At the absolute least, we should have our tallest and most physical players marking the opposition at these critical times of the game.
