JJ Redick did not restrain himself during his first press conference with the Los Angeles Lakers on Monday. In fact, he freely let the obscenity fly. On Monday, Redick made his debut as the Lakers’ new head coach.
The new coach was asked whether he had heard any worries or misconceptions that he would like to refute or prove incorrect.
Redick said, “I’ve heard everything, so it’s a legitimate question.” My response to your inquiry isn’t very good since, to be honest, I don’t give a f–k. I mean, really?
“I want to coach the Lakers. I want to coach the team. Nothing is to be disproved by me. Not in my case. My goal is to become an excellent NBA coach. I also want to be a champion. I also want my guys to have the best possible careers. I f-king just give a damn about it.

It is evident from Redick’s broadcasting on his podcast—not while offering commentary on ESPN—that he is not afraid to be himself.
The forty-year-old former NBA veteran appears to be indicating that, despite being the Lakers’ first head coach, he is not coming in scared; rather, he is coming in with enough confidence to drop some expletives during his opening press conference, which is likely to sit well with at least one Lakers employee.
