    According to Jamie Redknapp, Tottenham Hotspur would need to give up in the last seven games of the campaign to lose their chance to qualify for the Champions League.

    Following their 3-1 victory over Nottingham Forest, Tottenham passed the Villans for fourth position as they were held to a tie by Brentford.

    Despite having a game in hand, the Lilywhites and the Midlands club are currently locked on points. Both teams would want to place fourth to ensure their entry into the competition, even if a fifth-place finish might be sufficient to get into the Champions League.

    In his post-match news conference on Sunday, Postecoglou made it obvious that he was tired of hearing questions about the competition for fourth place and that he was more interested in seeing his team make progress than in placing in the top four (Football.London).

    Tottenham is predicted to qualify for the Champions League.

    “He (Postecoglou) seemed to be agitated in the last few weeks, obviously people asking him about the Champions League and he says ‘no, we just want to keep winning football matches and take it in our stride,'” Roy Keane said in response to the Tottenham manager’s remarks on Sky Sports (as reported by the Birmingham Mail).

    The former Spurs midfielder added: “They were unwatchable for years, Spurs, but he’s come in with signings, the belief in the way that they play. He talks a lot about next season and I think if they bring in some players they’re gonna be even better.

    They have the core of a youthful team. Maddison was a wise addition, and Van De Ven is really good. They should very certainly finish in the top four, in my opinion; I don’t see Manchester United going on a tear. Tottenham would be giving in if they weren’t playing in the Champions League at the moment.

    Spurs have practically guaranteed entry to the Champions League if finishing in fifth place turns out to be sufficient.

    Tottenham will still have a lot of work ahead of them if the extra spaces are awarded to the Bundesliga and Serie A, which is still very much a possibility.

    Despite Postecoglou’s team’s challenging season finale, Villa will continue to feel like they can win the race for fourth place.
