John Wenham wants Tottenham to attempt to recruit Leon Goretzka, a midfield player for Bayern Munich.
The proprietor of the credible Spurs podcast, Lilywhite Rose, was astounded by the German’s performance against Arsenal in the UEFA Champions League last year.
Goretzka is one of several players who would be free to leave Munich this summer if a fair offer materialized, according to Florian Plettenberg via X on June 7. And according to Wenham, who is only speaking to Tottenham News, Spurs need to be submitting a bid.
Hamilton claims that Goretzka has been written off left, right, and center. But I felt he was great when I saw him play against Arsenal at the Emirates last season.
I thought he was simply outstanding in that high-stakes, high-pressure game. That simply begs the question, “Why can’t we aim for a player of that caliber?” especially considering that it appears Bayern wants to let him go.
Leon Goretzka would transform Ange Postecoglou’s midfield options at Tottenham
Spurs seldom pursue a player with Goretzka’s level of public recognition. It made sense in the past why the team could have refrained from going after a guy with that caliber.
But Daniel Levy is currently at a loss for reasons not to spend the big bucks in North London. Because of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the team is making a lot of money, and fans will want to see part of that money spent on improving the team.
Although the 29-year-old’s personal terms may be difficult to negotiate, Spurs have little excuse not to at least try to sign him as Munich is obviously eager to sell.
He has a track record of success at the top level of European football and is a serial winner, so Ange Postecoglou would be really fortunate to have him.
In other Tottenham news, Real Madrid is showing interest in a top player, thus the club will seek £80 million for him.
