Although Simon Jordan maintained that Jose Mourinho was never the ideal choice for the North London team, he acknowledged that Daniel Levy should be commended for the manner he has managed Tottenham Hotspur.
Levy is undoubtedly not the most well-liked Premier League chairman; a substantial portion of the Tottenham fan base has harsh criticisms for him.
Many of them accuse him of simply caring about profits rather than success and place all the blame for the club’s lack of silverware wins since 2008 on his shoulders.
The 62-year-old has responded to the accusation by stating that he is driven to win awards and that’s why he chose two “win-first” managers in Antonio Conte and Jose mourinho (Reuters)
Has Daniel Levy done a good job at Tottenham?
Jordan acknowledged that the chairman of Tottenham is fully aware of the necessity to turn the team’s achievements off the field into awards.
On the talkSPORT program Simon & Souness, the former chairman of Crystal Palace responded, “I do,” when asked if he thought Levy had done a good job. He is undoubtedly a shrewd operator. That £1.4 billion stadium you have there proves he’s a shrewd businessman.

With a few noteworthy exceptions, your team is the most profitable in all of world football, and the club has turned a profit each year since Daniel joined. He is aware that he needs to strike the correct balance because he has an empty trophy cabinet.
Jordan also contended that Antonio Conte did not do himself any favors with his behavior at Tottenham, but he also hinted that Levy may have made a mistake in selecting Mourinho.
“Do I think he got the Mourinho one right?” he continued. Because Mourinho and Conte are such large personalities, I have a hard time understanding their relationship dynamics.

It seems unfair, in my opinion, to condemn Levy in one sentence for lacking ambition and then in another for selecting Conte and Levy as win-first managers.
It would be a historical revision to say that Conte and Mourinho were unsupported, given that the Italian manager acquired the majority, if not all, of the players he desired.
