Ben Hunt eyeing Broncos return after Dragons exit
In an interview on Sunday, halfback Ben Hunt talked candidly about his recent departure from the St George Illawarra Dragons and his interest in rejoining the Brisbane Broncos.
He declared, “I will always have a special place in Brisbane.”
They’ve worked really hard on me because I’ve been involved since I was twelve years old.
“It would be exceptional if I had the chance to finish there.”
Despite having one year left on his contract, Hunt left the Dragons last week after their relationship soured after a difficult post-season evaluation.
Despite reports that multiple clubs are interested in signing the Queenslander, he currently has no contract for the 2025 NRL season.
Regarding his departure from the club, Hunt remarked, “It’s good that it’s over now because it dragged out a bit.”

For a long period, I believed I gave the Dragons my all.

“I think I can hold my head up with what I did there, and I really helped try to build the club.” I competed hard.
Since joining the Dragons in 2018, Hunt has played 147 games and scored 39 tries. Prior to that, he played with the Broncos for nine seasons.
Hunt’s top goal is to finish his career with some hardware, even if he would like to go back to his Brisbane origins.
He said, “I’ll try to go somewhere where you can win a competition.”
“I’d really like that opportunity to join a team that I believe can win one because it’s pretty obvious that I’m nearing the end of my career and only have a few years left.”
This Sunday, when the Kangaroos play Tonga for the title, the 34-year-old has the opportunity to add the Pacific Cup to his resume.
