An alert was issued to the Pittsburgh Steelers regarding their quarterbacks.
Pittsburgh Russell Wilson to start and Justin Fields to backup have radically changed the quarterback room for the Pittsburgh Steelers. However, others think Fields might still be a useful component of the system if Arthur Smith, the new offensive coordinator, could create some packages that use him.
However, NFL analyst Phil Simms stated that the Steelers must exercise caution so as not to incite a quarterback controversy in the process. According to Simms, if they play Fields too heavily, it can cause some people to believe that he is a more deserving player and cause friction in the locker room.
What kind of role Fields should have in the offense is a fair point of contention. Wilson probably provides the more steady hand, while Fields can make explosive plays with his legs. During his three seasons in the NFL, he has established himself as one of the more dynamic rushers in the entire game, particularly at the quarterback position.
The only contract either quarterback has left is for the 2024 campaign, and it would be a waste of Fields’ extraordinary skill to start the season on the bench. However, the Steelers have a certain objective in mind, and they won’t want to invite any potential conflict that can destabilize a locker room.
