According to sources who spoke to Football Insider, Tottenham is leading a number of Premier League teams in the race to recruit Australian sensation Thomas Waddingham.

Waddingham, who is having a breakout season with Brisbane Roar in the A-League, has been on a scorching run of late, hitting five goals in his previous nine outings.

The 19-year-old, who is only two goals behind fellow teenage star and Bayern Munich-bound Nestory Irankunda in the scoring rankings, has drawn interest from a number of elite teams throughout Europe.

Spurs are Waddingham’s top Premier League suitor, but the Bundesliga heavyweights are also leading the chase among German teams interested in him.

Through his contacts in the A-League, Ange Postecoglou has learned of the Australian U-23 international’s skills, and the North London club is eager to outpace their rivals in their pursuit of the gifted youth.

The Brisbane Roar are aware of the growing interest in the 6’0″ forward, who is a throwback to the classic No. 9 striker.
