Although several teams are interested in signing Jonathan Rowe in the January transfer window, Tottenham has been keeping an eye on the Norwich winger after he scored an incredible solo goal against Hull.

Football.london understands that Tottenham Hotspur is monitoring Norwich winger Jonathan Rowe’s development.

After returning to the junior setup last year, the 20-year-old winger earned 13 appearances in the Premier League as a teenager, but this season has seen him finally break through into the Canaries’ squad in the Championship. With 28 games played so far, Rowe, who can play on either flank or in a central offensive midfield role, has 12 goals and 3 assists.

He had a fantastic run of scoring in five straight games at the beginning of the season, but his goal on Friday night in a 2-1 victory over Hull was right up there with his best.

After winning the ball just inside the Hull half, the young winger started a jinking run through the middle of the pitch. With players gathered around him, he moved right and then left before hitting a precise shot and falling with the outside of his right foot inside the left-hand post.

This season, Rowe has played for the 11th-placed team on both flanks and through the center. In an effort to expand Ange Postecoglou’s choices for the near and distant future, Premier League clubs like the Canaries and Tottenham are rumored to be considering the England Under-21 international. They have observed Rowe in action, but they have not yet taken any action to help the player.

Given that Norwich is only two points out of the play-off spots, it is still uncertain if the gifted winger would make a mid-season move or if a summer transfer is more likely. If there’s a contract to be done, clubs will be lining up for his services.

Clearly, David Wagner, the head coach of Norwich, has “no concern” about Rowe being sold during the January transfer window. Wagner stated this over the weekend.

“This is what he can deliver, so it’s clear that the goal was excellent. This has happened a couple times already this season. The German said, “I really enjoyed it, but I also really appreciated the way he worked and defended.

“Technically, he made a very clever defensive move and effort for the club. He did a great job of supporting his full-back; it was evident in his performance. It becomes more intriguing when you take into account that he is still very young and that he started his first senior game at the beginning of the campaign.”
