At barely 27 years old, Vicario is still far from reaching his peak as a goalie. It will be intriguing to see how he develops as a player in the next years.
The 27-year-old seamlessly replaced Hugo Lloris in between the sticks as he helped Spurs enjoy a bright start to the Premier League season.

Zenga spoke to Corriere about the prospect of the Tottenham keeper replacing Gianluigi Donnarumma in the Italy starting XI.
The Azzurri first-choice has been prone to some mistakes of late. This includes getting sent off in his team’s recent 2-0 win over Le Havre.
As a result, there have been those calling for Donnarumma to be demoted at international level to give someone else a chance.
Zenga, who previously coached Vicario at Venezia, said Vicario “lives for football.
“In Venezia, he worked to improve himself. His mentality led him to the big stages.
“I see him like that even today in interviews, in the messages he writes to me. The same focus as back then.
“The Premier League hasn’t changed him. He will continue to grow and gain experience.”

His efforts helped Tottenham go top of the fledging Premier League table. And he’s still doing well now Spurs have suffered a downturn in form.
Arguably the biggest sign that Vicario has been superb for Tottenham is that few people are clamouring for Lloris to return.
Vicario is just 27 years of age, so he’s not even in his prime yet as a goalkeeper. It’ll be exciting to see how he continues to develop as a player in the coming years.
