Texas A&M will face USC in the Las Vegas Bowl, capping off a season that started strong but faltered after losing star running back Le’Veon Moss. Despite the disappointing finish, the Aggies’ future looks promising under coach Mike Elko, with a strong 2025 recruiting class.

 

USC’s Lincoln Riley faces pressure to adapt to the Big Ten after a mediocre 6-6 season. The matchup against Texas A&M in the Las Vegas Bowl adds a layer of intrigue, given the recruiting rivalry between the two programs, including USC’s recent flipping of QB commit Husan Longstreet and Texas A&M’s poaching of former USC commit Jerome Myles.

The future indeed looks promising for Texas A&M under Coach Mike Elko’s leadership. With 25 commitments in the 2025 class, including top talents like five-star offensive tackle Lamont Rogers and five-star wide receiver Jerome Myles, the Aggies are building a strong foundation for success

Elko’s experience and track record are certainly encouraging. As the former defensive coordinator at Texas A&M, he helped the team achieve four consecutive bowl trips and a impressive 34-14 record from 2018 to 2021. His stint as head coach at Duke also saw significant improvements, with the Blue Devils finishing 9-4 and winning the Military Bowl in 2022 ².With Elko at the helm, Texas A&M is poised to bounce back from a disappointing finish to the 2024 season. The team’s recruiting efforts are clearly paying off, and fans have reason to be excited about the upcoming season
