The arrival of Radu Drăgușin from Genoa last week will help Spurs have stronger center-back coverage, according to former Tottenham Hotspur attacker Ronny Rosenthal, who spoke with Romania’s iAMsport.ro.

This season, Ange Postecoglou has used Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven as his first-choice center-back duo.

The Romanian international played a lot for Genoa, and other teams expressed interest in signing him after seeing his impressive performances. He turned down offers from other teams to join Tottenham as well as one from Bayern Munich.

Drăgușin was persuaded to pass on the Bundesliga winners for Spurs by his desire to fight with the top players in the Premier League, according to iAMsport.ro.

When the 21-year-old chose Tottenham over Bayern, Rosenthal was asked if it was a “wise” decision. He replied by stating that Drăgușin will find it challenging to play frequently for his new team.

“Going to Tottenham or Bayern is nearly identical.” Young players should constantly take baby steps toward their career. He stated that for him, playing games at Genoa would undoubtedly be preferable to watching from the sidelines at Tottenham.

Though I may not follow every Tottenham game, as a fan, I don’t think he’ll start this season until there are injuries. I know what defenders are there. It won’t benefit him, in my opinion. Tottenham will benefit since it will provide protection for their two starting defenders.

In response to additional questions about the advantages for Tottenham and what it meant for Drăgușin, he stated, “It’s not the best scenario.” There are a ton of games, but it appears like those two will be back next season as well. Chances to play will come his way. He will next need to demonstrate his merit for being the starting quarterback.

On Sunday, during Spurs’ 2-2 draw with Manchester United, the Romanian defender made his Tottenham debut by coming off the bench.
