Archie Griffin, a star for Bath and Wales, has disclosed that he was just given a heart problem diagnosis.
In the first week of the 2017 Gallagher Premiership season, the 23-year-old tighthead prop, who made his debut for Warren Gatland’s team during this year’s Six Nations, reported feeling sore in his chest.
Griffin was diagnosed with pericarditis, a condition in which the lining surrounding the heart becomes inflamed, following his participation in his team’s September opener against Northampton Saints. Most patients recover in a matter of weeks, though the disease might continue for a long time.
