At the top of the rankings is Max Verstappen, the four-time world champion, who claims the highest overall score despite facing a tough start to the 2025 season. The Red Bull driver, who is aiming for his fifth consecutive world title, currently has only one win from the first six races of the year.
The surprise leader of the real-world championship standings so far is Oscar Piastri. The young Australian has been dominant on the track, clinching four wins and positioning himself as the early title favorite. However, in the F1 25 video game ratings, Piastri is ranked only eighth overall. This has raised eyebrows among fans, especially given his on-track performance.
The game’s driver ratings are determined based on four key attributes: Experience (EXP), Racecraft (RAC), Awareness (AWA), and Pace (PAC). Verstappen scored exceptionally in all categories, particularly in racecraft (96) and pace (96), contributing to his overall rating of 95.
Lando Norris and Charles Leclerc are tied for the second-highest rating, both at 91. Norris impresses with a strong pace rating of 94, while Leclerc stands out for his awareness (93) and racecraft (95), showing his well-rounded capabilities. George Russell and Carlos Sainz follow with ratings of 90 each. Sainz, notably, has the same racecraft score as Verstappen, suggesting a high level of consistency and race intelligence.
Meanwhile, Lewis Hamilton, who made a high-profile switch to Ferrari for the 2025 season after a challenging final stretch with Mercedes, finds himself in sixth place overall with a rating of 89. Despite his age and recent struggles, Hamilton boasts the highest experience score (98) among all drivers, along with solid awareness and racecraft ratings.
Veteran Fernando Alonso, now nearing the end of his career, also ranks high in experience (99), maintaining an overall score of 88. The middle tier includes drivers like Pierre Gasly (86), Esteban Ocon (85), and Nico Hulkenberg (84), who are all rated closely, reflecting their steady yet unspectacular contributions.
Rounding out the grid are newer names like Oliver Bearman, Gabriel Bortoleto, Jack Doohan, and Kimi Antonelli—all rated in the low 70s, reflecting their limited experience and track record. Isack Hadjar, with a rating of 68, holds the lowest overall score in the game.
