Lewis Hamilton played a key role in bringing Sky Sports F1 commentators David Croft and Martin Brundle into the upcoming £240 million Formula 1 film, according to director Joseph Kosinski. The seven-time world champion insisted that their inclusion was vital for authenticity, saying, “If you want to make it authentic commentary, you need Martin and Crofty.”
Croft, who has led F1 commentary since 2006, and Brundle, a former driver and long-time analyst, have already recorded several sessions for the film. Croft shared with The Times that the duo was allowed to stray from the script during filming to keep the commentary sounding genuine.
He also praised Brundle’s expertise, describing him as the analyst with real racing experience, while positioning himself as the inquisitive journalist who helps clarify the technical details for viewers.
