“There were good times,” Russell said, “but also a lot of painful memories of my parents fighting due to the pressure my father put on me. My mother tried to keep things together.”

Though Steve rarely focused on positives, always pushing George to improve, that approach instilled a relentless drive in his son.
“I’ve learned to strike a balance — to focus on improvement while also recognizing the positives,” George reflected. “Otherwise, the pressure can be overwhelming.”
