Bukayo Saka of Arsenal has had a fantastic start to the season thus far, and he maintained his good play in two Premier League games in October.
The other seven nominees were Danny Welbeck (Brighton), Matz Sels and Chris Wood (Nottingham Forest), Cole Palmer (Chelsea), Bryan Mbeumo (Brentford), Josko Gvardiol (Manchester City), and Facundo Buonanotte (Leicester City).
Even though all of the other nominees played more games in October, no player contributed more goals than Saka’s four.
Saka’s injury prevented him from playing for Arsenal against Bournemouth, which only highlighted how crucial he was as the Gunners lost 2-0
Saka was a key player in Arsenal’s 3-1 victory over Southampton early in the month, contributing two assists and one goal.
Even though he had just returned from injury, the 23-year-old then scored Arsenal’s first goal against Liverpool last weekend.
It should come as no surprise that Saka has been nominated alongside seven other players for the Premier League’s Player of the Month award.
