Today! Paul Gyenger, 35, has been placed under detention in jail after he allegedly called Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia a “chronic womanizer” on social media.
Additionally, according to the complaint, the suspect defamed the governor’s reputation in a number of ways on the same Facebook account by using derogatory Tiv language words.
Gyenger was charged before the Makurdi Chief Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday. However, due to a lack of jurisdiction, Mr. Kelvin Mbanongun, the Chief Magistrate, declined to accept the suspect’s plea.
