Once more, when Brock Purdy is not at the 49ers’ facilities, he is found operating a tractor.
On Thursday, Purdy and 49ers teammate Colton McKivitz were seen filming a John Deere commercial on the streets of San Francisco.
The producer of agricultural equipment made a smart decision by trying to cash in on Purdy’s widely shared video of himself and fiancée Jenna Brandt operating a tractor on her family’s farm during the 49ers’ 2023 bye week.
Purdy and Brandt had previously visited Iowa during harvest season prior to the 2023 season. In November of that same rookie season, the pair took the same trip.
With slightly under $900,000, Purdy’s 2023 salary was placed 40th among 49ers players. The NFL’s collective bargaining agreement forbids any contract modifications or extensions during a player’s first three seasons, despite the fact that he is crucial to the offense’s success.
Throughout the course of the four years remaining on his contract, the Pro Bowl selection’s income increases gradually, but in 2024 Purdy will still be among the team’s lowest paid players. It makes sense for him to supplement his income, and the Iowa State product already has agreements with John Deere, Toyota, and FedEx.
