Five Suspects Arrested in Benue on Charges of Identity Theft and Cyberfraud Five young guys have been arrested by the Benue State Police Command on suspicion of identity theft and cybercrime. The arrests followed an operation by the Cybercrime and Narcotics Department, the Command’s spokesperson, SP Sewuese Anene, said in a statement. Today! Paul Gyenger, 35, has been placed under detention in jail after he allegedly called Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia a “chronic womanizer” on social media. Additionally, according to the complaint, the suspect defamed the governor’s reputation in a number of ways on the same Facebook account by using derogatory Tiv language words. Gyenger was charged before the Makurdi Chief Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.
