The ultra-young San Antonio roster may target both Reed Sheppard and Rob Dillingham with the No. 4 and No. 8 overall picks in the 2024 NBA Draft, held by the San Antonio Spurs.

With the first overall pick in the previous year’s draft, the Spurs selected Victor Wembanyama, a player of the future. Wemby had a great debut season, averaging 21.4 points and a league-high 3.6 blocks per game.

Top prospects are now beginning to take notice of him, Dillingham among them. Dillingham is aware of his responsibility to get Wemby the ball if the Spurs select him in the draft.

Although some in the league don’t think of Dillingham as a “Spursy” type of pick given their history in the draft, he has been publicly advocating for San Antonio to select him. In the event that the Spurs match him with Wembanyama, there would be no doubts about his perspective on the team’s hierarchy. “He could be one of the best players ever,” Dillingham stated during the NBA Draft combine held in Chicago.
