What West Ham manager target has just said on video will leave Hammers fans weak at the knees
One West Ham United manager target has endeared himself to the Hammers fans already it seems.
Press leaks are currently revealing manager targets one after another, and David Moyes’s future at West Ham appears to be becoming worse every week.
When word leaked out yesterday that we were interested in hiring Sporting CP coach Ruben Amorim, the Hammers supporters went crazy.
The enthusiasm, though, was short-lived as the 39-year-old may not be taking over at the London Stadium, according to the most recent reports (Fabrizio Romano).
It does appear certain at this point that Moyes will depart the team at the end of the current campaign.
However, who will step in to take his place? Paulo Fonseca is one figure who is closely associated with the position.
And something the Lille coach has just said will appeal greatly to the Hammers fans…
West Ham manager target makes exciting declaration
Fonseca, 51, is reportedly admired greatly by the Hammers board.
It’s little wonder as to why with some of the football that he has his Lille side playing now, and the job he did in charge of Shakhtar Donetsk previously.
So what would Fonseca bring to the Hammers? Who better to give an answer to that question than the man himself.
Fonseca explained how he approaches his role at Lille, and the West Ham fans will be salivating over his comments:
“I’m not afraid to play a kid who’s like, 16. The goal of Lille is to promote players, it’s part of my job. For me, the players don’t have age, they have talent. I want to play in an offensive way and to promote yoiung players. The goal is to play in a way to attract the supporters.”
This fills me with tremendous excitement.
We need someone at West Ham right now who is eager to develop excellent young players into the first squad AND who enjoys playing an attractive brand of attacking football.
Although Moyes has significantly increased the London Stadium’s success, he has finally hit his limit. He plays a laborious style of football, and he has a dismal track record in developing young players.
I think we’ll be in a terrific position to make some serious progress at the London Stadium if Fonseca, the West Ham manager target, does end up taking over.
