Like the rest of us, you’ve circled a number of dates on the Philadelphia Eagles offseason schedule. You certainly have the free-agency craze on your mind. You’re probably keeping an eye out for the NFL Scouting Combine this coming weekend, but that’s just a taste of what’s to come in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Having a good balance of youthful players and seasoned leaders is the aim of every professional football team. Philly possesses that. This Jalen Carter guy is well-known, am I right? He’s going to be fantastic for a very long time, barring injury.
During the selection meeting, Philly will have choices about how to surround him with other defensive weapons. However, we have compiled a list of some potential future stars. While some of these individuals would undoubtedly be amazing additions, it’s also possible that they are more grounded than we realize.
Laiatu Latu (UCLA) or Jared Verse (FSU): Honestly, we’d take either man.
The Eagles will not be able to sign Dallas Turner. We can let go of that dream. Furthermore, after Philly pulled off the coup of all coups by acquiring Jalen Carter in 2023, the football gods wouldn’t let that happen.
However, let’s just say that on draft night, certain guys slipped as Round 1 proceeded, answering our prayers. When Philly is on the clock at 22, there’s probably no chance that Laiatu Latu or Jared Verse wind up being available for the Birds, but we’ll still put them on our draft boards.
The Birds would have an outstanding edge rusher with both. They totaled 22 sacks in 2023 (six for Verse and thirteen for Latu). To your fictitious draft boards, add Chop Robinson (Penn State), Chris Braswell (Alabama), and Jonah Elliss (Utah) as fallback options in case the players we desire are unavailable.
