Ferrari Unveils Bold Blue Look for Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc…Read More

Ferrari have revealed a dramatic visual change for the 2025 Miami Grand Prix, ditching their iconic red for a fresh blue-and-white color scheme in a striking new look for drivers Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc. The change is part of a special edition design celebrating the team’s ongoing partnership with Hewlett-Packard (HP).

Traditionally known for their unmistakable scarlet liveries, Ferrari has surprised fans by moving away from the red aesthetic for this weekend’s race. In a social media reveal, both Hamilton and Leclerc were seen sporting the new racesuits featuring blue and white tones, completely devoid of Ferrari’s trademark red. The redesign integrates the HP logo’s color palette seamlessly, reinforcing the partnership between the iconic F1 team and their major sponsor.

This marks the second consecutive year Ferrari have used the Miami Grand Prix to experiment with a non-traditional design. During the 2024 Miami race, Charles Leclerc and then-teammate Carlos Sainz also wore light blue racesuits, though the car’s main livery remained predominantly red. For 2025, Ferrari have taken it a step further. The SF-25 now features significant blue-and-white elements across major aerodynamic components, including the front wing, air intake, and rear wing, making it one of the boldest visual departures in recent years.

The color shift is intended to commemorate one year since the start of Ferrari’s partnership with HP. The collaboration has added a modern, tech-inspired flair to Ferrari’s branding, and the Miami GP — known for its glitz, glamour, and American fanfare — serves as the ideal venue to showcase the updated image.

Interestingly, this is not the first time Ferrari have raced in blue. In 1964, the team temporarily adopted a blue and white livery following a disagreement between founder Enzo Ferrari and the FIA. After the governing body refused to homologate a new Ferrari sports car for the World Endurance Championship, Enzo withdrew Ferrari’s official team entry and entered races under the North American Racing Team (NART) banner instead.

During this period, Ferrari competed with the blue-and-white color scheme, and at the 1964 U.S. Grand Prix at Watkins Glen, drivers John Surtees and Lorenzo Bandini took part in the race wearing the alternate livery. Surtees went on to finish second in the race and ultimately clinched the world championship title at the season-ending Mexican Grand Prix — making him the only Ferrari driver in history to win a title while racing in blue.

Now, over half a century later, Ferrari’s latest nod to this historic colorway carries a modern twist — combining legacy, innovation, and brand identity — as Lewis Hamilton appears in blue for the first time in his Ferrari career on the streets of Miami.
