The 22-year-old clocked 122 run metres from his 13 carries but it was in defence where he was found wanting as he missed five of his 18 attempted tackles.
The minor injury will only sideline Tago for a minimal amount of time as he is expected to lace up the boots for the Panthers in their opening round fixture against Cronulla in Las Vegas next year.
Tago will be part of a new-look backline at the foot of the mountains in 2025 with Sunia Turuva and Jarome Luai departing the club.
The duo have moved to the Wests Tigers, while Penrith responded to their losses by recruiting Blaize Talagi from Parramatta.
The Samoan international played alongside Tago in the opening Test against England after coming off the bench and could be set to either take the vacant No.6 jersey or a place on the wing.
