Brendan Rodgers’ team recovered from a dismal night against Borussia Dortmund at the beginning of October with a strong performance against Atalanta in Italy on Wednesday night.

To the joy of Hoops manager Brendan Rodgers, the Celts’ valiant and unrelenting defensive effort earned them a crucial point away from home in the Champions League, as the game ended 0-0.

In an interview with the media prior to Sunday’s away game against Motherwell, the Celtics’ coach commended his team for their resilient and focused play.

“The team played excellent defence the other night,” he remarked. As a team, we prefer to dominate the game and force our method of play on the other team.

However, you are aware that you will face challenging circumstances while facing better teams, particularly when you are playing away from home.

“You’ll need to be extremely focused because you won’t have the run of the game.” That focus against a really good squad was perhaps what I enjoyed the most.

“We demonstrated our ability to be compact and tight, as well as to defend really well—all of which we previously discussed.”

Supporters benefit much as well since they need to know that their team is capable of showing some grit, determination, and humour.

“Against a quality team the other night, I believe we witnessed that.

“The team’s cohesiveness and mentality are truly demonstrated by that performance.”

On Sunday afternoon, the Bhoys will travel to North Lanarkshire to play Motherwell in the Scottish Premiership.

Last season, the Celts won both of their games at Fir Park with to late goals, proving that the Steelmen were formidable opponents.

Brendan stated that he is excited about the trip to Motherwell, even if it will likely be a difficult test on Sunday.

“Fir Park has always been a difficult place to go,” he stated. I always have a great time going there. The mood is always fantastic, and we provide strong support for the objective.

Stuart has his players well-prepared, and we anticipate a well-organised team. These are always difficult games.

After a Champions League match, we are aware of what we require. It’s tremendous energy, big attitude, and to keep up our fantastic season-opening performance.

On Friday morning, it was revealed that Tommy Callaghan, the legendary Celtic player, had tragically died at the age of 79.

During his tenure in Glasgow’s East End, the former Celtic midfielder, who played for the Hoops from 1968 to 1976, won three Scottish League Cups, five Scottish Cups, and six league titles.

“Our thoughts and condolences are with Tommy and the family,” Brendan remarked in remembrance of Tommy.

“Any player who was signed by Jock Stein twice is a testament to his skill.

It’s really depressing. Tommy and I had met just a few weeks prior. The day is depressing.

“He is a true club legend, and his family is in our thoughts and prayers.”

Manager makes four changes today against Motherwell

The starting lineup from the midweek trip to Italy and the 0-0 UEFA Champions League match with Serie A team Atalanta has been altered by the manager four times.

Kyogo, Paulo Bernardo, James Forrest, and Luke McCowan are the four players who enter; Cameron Carter-Vickers and Greg Taylor return to the bench due to injuries.

    The entire group is:

Celtic: Schmeichel, Johnston, Scales, Valle, McCowan, Bernardo, Hatate, Forrest, Kyogo, Maeda, and Trusty are Celtic.

Substitutes: Carter-Vickers, Engels, Ralston, Kuhn, Taylor, Palma, Idah, Yang, and Sinisalo.
