The Chicago Bulls’ final roster place is secured by a former Laker.

The Chicago Bulls signed Talen Horton-Tucker to the team’s final roster spot on Friday, according to an ESPN post by Jamal Collier on “X.”

The Chicago Bulls have completed their roster for the 2024–25 campaign with the addition of Talen Horton-Tucker. Before being moved to the Utah Jazz in 2022, the sixth-year guard played for the Los Angeles Lakers for his first three seasons in the league.

Horton-Tucker will receive close to $2.5 million under the minimum-salary contract, but the Bulls can choose to waive it at any point before January 7, 2025. The trade was announced just one day after the Bulls and forward E.J. Liddell reached an agreement on a two-way contract. Horton-Tucker became the first player with an Exhibit 10 contract to be added to the team’s opening night roster after both players signed with the Bulls in September.

Horton-Tucker made a crucial layup with four seconds left to force overtime in last night’s preseason finale against the Cleveland Cavaliers. After a while, the Bulls easily won 139-137.

In 17.8 minutes of action throughout the five-game preseason, Horton-Tucker averaged 13 points and 2.2 assists. With Josh Giddey, Coby White, Ayo Dosunmu, and the returning Lonzo Ball already in the backcourt, the guard will bring depth.

On October 23, the Chicago Bulls will play their first game of the regular season in New Orleans. Tipoff for the game is set for 8 p.m. ET.
