The team is focused on a different “position” this season, prioritizing the management of their assets for better opportunities next year, a strategy commonly referred to here as “Blow It Up/Remodel.” However, this hasn’t stopped figures like Shaquille O’Neal, who is urging owner Jerry Jones to sign free agent Leonard Fournette, or Robert Griffin III, who suggested the Cowboys contact the New Orleans Saints before the November 5 trade deadline to acquire Alvin Kamara, from proposing trade ideas. Although we have dismissed Griffin III’s suggestion (see here), it has gained significant attention, leading some unreliable sources to claim they have “insider” information about a potential deal. Griffin III tweeted that if the Saints continue to struggle, the Cowboys should explore a trade for Kamara, which could certainly benefit the team. We’ve even published articles advocating for a major trade to salvage the season, fully aware that this is not Dallas’ current plan.
