In his second season as Tottenham’s manager, Ange Postecoglou has overseen a generally positive set of performances, albeit with very mixed outcomes.
Tottenham is currently in ninth place in the league, having won three of their first seven games. Despite this, it has recently emerged that Tottenham is looking to add a winger to strengthen their squad before the January transfer window opens.
Javi Puado might be bid on by Tottenham.
La Razon says that Tottenham Hotspur scouts have received encouraging information about Espanyol winger Javi Puado. According to the source, Puado could be signed by Spurs in January, implying that a formal offer may be on the way. Although Alejo Veliz is spending the season on loan at Espanyol, it is believed that the club executives have been monitoring his progress. And whilst monitoring Veliz, his teammate Puado has caught the eye of Tottenham, especially considering he can be signed for an affordable price.
Javi Puado can be Dominic Solanke’s backup.
Described as “stunning” by Espanyol’s website, Puado is a winger by trade but can also play centre forward, as he has done four times this season, scoring three goals. Perhaps for this reason, Spurs are eager to sign him, as he would cover multiple areas across Postecoglou’s forward line. Earlier in the season, when Solanke was sidelined by injury, Spurs lacked a cutting edge up front, so Puado would be ideal to fill in at number nine when necessary.
