    Natalie Powell, the celebrated judo star from Powys, has announced her retirement from competitive judo, bringing an end to a remarkable career that has spanned over a decade. With numerous accolades to her name, Powell has been a prominent figure in British judo, inspiring countless athletes with her dedication and skill.

    Born in 1991, Powell began her judo journey at a young age, quickly rising through the ranks due to her natural talent and hard work. She made her mark on the international stage in 2010 when she became the first British woman to win a gold medal at the European Judo Championships in the under-78 kg category. This achievement set the tone for a career filled with exceptional performances and notable victories.

    Throughout her career, Powell represented Great Britain at multiple World Championships and Olympic Games, most notably competing in the 2016 Rio Olympics. Her determination and tenacity earned her respect not just in the UK but across the global judo community.
