Ronald Griffiths to farewell the Knights

nib Newcastle Knights NSW Cup Head Coach Ronald Griffiths will depart the Club at the conclusion of the 2024 season, to accept a position with the New Zealand Warriors.

Griffiths transitioned this season from leading the Knights’ female programs, including back-to-back NRLW premiership titles in 2022-23, to focus on full time coaching in the NSW Cup program.

The proud Gommeroi man who grew up on Awabakal and Wonnarua country, returned home to coach the Knights for the 2022 NRLW season.

nib Newcastle Knights Director of Football, Peter Parr, acknowledged the impact the highly regarded coach and cultural leader has delivered.

“Ronald has made a wonderful contribution in his time here,” Parr said.

“It cannot be understated what he has done for this club and the players he has directly influenced.

“As a two-time premiership winning coach, he will always be remembered as a champion of the Newcastle Knights.

“Ronald departs with our eternal gratitude, we wish him, Chantelle and the family all the very best for the future.”
