Tamara Roberts, a native of Juneau, considered photographing the northern lights to be only a pastime until she noticed a completely other light.
Roberts claimed that since September 2021, she has recorded 30 to 40 different movies and taken pictures of what she has dubbed “strange lights” in the skies above Juneau, close to her Thunder Mountain house.
Roberts remarked, “I’m fairly certain that I see something whenever I’m out, at least a couple times a week.” “There are obviously other people who are seeing them besides me. Additionally, individuals will realise that those aren’t satellites or stars if they simply focus more.
Roberts has more than 20 years of experience as a professional photographer. She claimed that after moving to Juneau 13 years ago, her interests shifted from taking pictures of people to wildlife and landscapes.
She claimed that she began seeing her phenomenon when she began going on late-night runs in an attempt to photograph the northern lights.
According to Roberts, not all encounters occur above Thunder Mountain; her most recent sighting occurred during her stepmother’s visit from Arizona, close to the Mendenhall Glacier.
Roberts remarked, “We got up and drove up there because she had never been here before, and lo and behold, there it was.” “There are some members of my family who don’t care at all, and there are others who firmly believe it to be what it is.”
Roberts recounted another recent experience that she felt was a bit too close to the glacier. She anticipated to find other photographers out for the same reason she always does when she drove up alone to look for the northern lights.
However, this evening was unique
“I’ve gone up there a million times by myself, and this night, particularly, it was clear, it was cold and the [aurora] KP index was high … so as I’m driving up and there’s nobody there. And I was like, Okay, I’ll just wait and somebody will show up.’ So I backed up into the parking spot underneath the street light — the only light that’s really there on that side of the parking lot — and I turned all my lights off, left my car running, looked around, and there was that light right there, next to the mountain.”
Roberts claimed that after shooting the shining light for about ten minutes and still not noticing anyone else, she began to have the odd sense that perhaps she ought to go.
“I had a horrible gut feeling,” Roberts remarked. My automobile stuttered as I began to leave my parking space. I was so terrified that I slammed the pedal, but my headlights… began to strobe and go crazy.
“All the way home, I didn’t have any headlights.”
The Juneau Police Department states that since a man was allegedly “yelling about UFOs in the downtown area” on September 14, there haven’t been any complaints of unusual lights in the sky.
According to responding officers, nothing out of the ordinary was found, and no one was taken into custody as a result of the man’s report.
There have been no reports of unusual activity in the skies over the past seven days, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s National Weather Service in Juneau. No answer came from the Federal Aviation Administration in Juneau.
According to Roberts, she believes the truth will eventually come to light because an increasing number of whistleblowers are coming forward during congressional hearings.
Roberts remarked, “Everyone remained so silent all these years for fear of being ridiculed.” “I believe that people should just accept reality as it is and let the evidence speak for itself now that people are beginning to come out, because they’re here, and that’s all there is to it.”
