Excellent defense, Disappointing and embarrassing offense.
The offense failed to seal the game several times and was unable to score a touchdown during the entire game. I’m quite fortunate to have won this game.
Three game-related ups and downs are as follows:
UPS:
1. The Vikings defense’s first three-and-out of the game. A good opening drive that bogged out and ended in a Romo FG came next.
2. Well done on your execution of our FGs, Jake McQuaide and John Parker Romo.
3. The defense plays the entire game. particularly the interceptions and fumble recovery in the fourth quarter. Unfortunately, at least three times our weak offense failed to win the game.
DOWNS:
1. The Jags’ first-quarter touchdown drive, which was led by Mac Jones. The final one to start the third quarter was followed by three Darnold interceptions, two of which were in the red zone. Does Darnold continue to toss to covered receivers? Very disappointing.
2. At the conclusion of the half-two-minute drill, a poor call (again) on a third-and-short? The call goes deep down field to a covered receiver and an incompletion, rather than being passed to Aaron Jones for a first down run or dumping it off short to T.J. Hockenson.
3. The execution, the calls, the interceptions—our red zone offense from soup to nuts. In the late fourth quarter, are you unable to score a touchdown to win the game?
I had a lot higher expectations. It’s a concern for Darnold and our offense following this game. Excited for the Titans.
