The map for the eagerly awaited 2024 light path in Leazes Park has been released by the Northern Lights Newcastle organisers.
This means that in addition to a Christmas village, visitors may now arrange their merry journey through 15 amazing installations along a completely redesigned path.
The family will be enthralled with the fantastic experience that the event promises to provide when it starts on November 22.
According to the organisers, this year’s light trail features a number of brand-new, jaw-dropping installations that invite visitors to explore the lit park, which is brimming with creativity and inventiveness and perfectly blends with Leazes Park’s natural beauty.
The new highlights of 2024 include:
Mycelium Network: In this fiber-optic installation, created by South Shields artist Stevie Thompson, light tendrils pulse through the terrain in a rhythmic, enthralling display that resembles the complex underground networks of mushrooms.
Optical: A captivating array of different-height pixel-mapped fibre optic formations. The area between the trees, which are also covered with luminous fibre optic strands, is filled with these captivating lights. A breathtaking sensation is created when the field of flowering lights comes to life with waves of colour and light set to enthralling music.
Whispering nights: Explore Whispering Nights, an atmospheric installation with a winding trail and up to 2,000 flickering LED candles. Each cosy radiance evokes the subtle dance of flames, creating delicate shadows and beckoning guests into a serene area where calm and light blend to create a serene experience.
Psychedelic Snails: Developed in partnership with the Alan Shearer Centre, this oddball installation adds a whimsical element for kids and families with its shimmering, color-changing snails and psychedelic fiber-optic trails winding over the landscape.
Visitors may also anticipate viewing Winter Skies, Festive Families, Beacons of Christmas, Framed, and other exhibits.

“We are so thrilled to be coming back to Newcastle for our second year, and we can’t wait for everyone to see all the work and creativity that has gone into this year’s installations,” she said.
Working with wonderful local communities, gifted artists, and fantastic organisations to bring this Christmas event to the North East has been an absolute honour, enabling us to create something distinctly spectacular that unites the entire family.
At the trail’s conclusion, guests can congregate in the Christmas village, which has two themed bars and nine street food vendors serving a variety of seasonal fare with a local flair.
The festive village will house local favourites including Redheads Mac n Cheese, 40 Ounce Burgers, Acropolis Greek Street Food, and others.
More than half of the tickets have already been sold, according to the organisers, so anyone interested in attending the Christmas event should move quickly.
Northern Lights Newcastle schedule for 2024:
It will be open from 4.30pm until 8.15pm from November 22 until November 30.
Then from December 1 until December 31, the event will run from 4.15pm until 8.15pm.

- Adult tickets from £19.50.
- Child tickets (three to 16-years-old) from £13.95.
- Family tickets from £59.50.
- Children under two go free.
