Derrick Rose should have a statue in Chicago even though he didn’t win a championship, according to Kevin Garnett.
“What I’m about to say is probably one of the rarest situations we’ve ever had in NBA history, so just hear me out,” Garnett stated. “Now, typically, a person who receives a stature has won titles… He was also like, “That dude (meant) so much to the city, and you put him up,” if he didn’t.
Garnett went on, “Let’s just say this kid grows up in a city that is in the NBA.” He was born and raised in the NBA city. That’s his squad, therefore he grows up. He attends high school and develops into that guy there. Guess where he goes after leaving for college? The city where he was raised. Then they draft him. Isn’t that a dream? Then, while playing for that team, he wins the league MVP award.
Garnett continued, “I hope everybody understands what I’m trying to say.” It’s not necessary for the D-Rose statue in Chicago to be on Mike’s (Michael Jordan) side; Mike should have his own s*** as D-Rose does. Having grown up in Chicago, I’m able to use my Bulls DNA to dominate Chicago basketball.
