The club decided to part ways with Erik ten Hag on Monday and quickly appointed Amorim, who was previously the head coach at Sporting Lisbon.
Manchester United has had a poor start to the Premier League season, currently sitting in 13th place ahead of their recent 1-1 draw with Chelsea. Amorim takes over a team that has won only three of their ten league matches, with only newly-promoted Southampton and Crystal Palace scoring fewer goals.
Rashford, who netted 30 goals in 56 appearances during Ten Hag’s first season at Old Trafford, has struggled to find the net since then.
