News: A Philadelphia Phillies star is said to have passed away!

The Philadelphia Phillies aren’t sitting around waiting to start their offseason plans, even if the World Series is still in progress. Ted Schwerzler was the first to report that the Phillies signed right-hander Cody Stashak to a minor league contract for the 2025 season on Wednesday, marking their first minor league roster change even though major league free agency and trading have not yet begun.

Between 2019 and 2022, Stashak, 30, played in 55 games for the Minnesota Twins, giving him major league experience. Stashak, who was selected by Minnesota in the 13th round of the 2015 Draft, made his Twins bullpen debut in July 2019 at the age of 25 with two scoreless innings. In his 72 career MLB innings as a reliever, he has a 4-1 record, a 4.13 ERA, a 1.19 WHIP, and 83 strikeouts.
