Caelen Carson, a rookie cornerback who was medically cleared to play against the Atlanta Falcons this week, is back on the Cowboys’ gameday roster, which is finally good news about injuries in Dallas.
After suffering a shoulder injury against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 3, Carson missed the next four games due to the injury, which further hampered the position’s depth chart when DaRon Bland’s extended absence was taken into account.
Bland and Micah Parsons were added to the active 53-man roster on Wednesday, but Bland is still not cleared to play and has been ruled out this week. The two All-Pro players are still waiting as neither of them practiced this week.
The Cowboys have until November 13 to decide on Jordan Phillips’ continuing status for 2024. Phillips was also ruled out and is currently on injured reserve. Regardless of how well he practices, he cannot play in games until he is released from IR.
