The Los Angeles Dodgers’ World Series victory against the New York Yankees marked the official end of the 2024 Major League Baseball season. The focus will shift to the offseason, where there seems to be a lot of excitement ahead, as the postseason draws to a close.
As free agents, athletes frequently swap teams during MLB offseasons. As the 2025 season approaches, Yankees standout Juan Soto is arguably the most well-known player who will be a free agency.
Recently, one MLB observer identified a little-known team that might be able to sign Soto this offseason. According to Chris Russo, via MLB Network, “I could see the [Baltimore] Orioles being one of these secretive teams to get Soto.”
Although the Yankees seem to be the most probable team to sign Soto, Russo mentions the Orioles as a dark horse that might be able to provide the required sum of money. According to Russo, the Orioles owner has a lot of money to spend, so it will probably take a significant investment to entice Soto to sign a contract.
