The Green Bay Packers might target Pittsburgh Steelers QB Justin Fields after Jordan Love suffered a groin injury during their recent game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Despite Love’s injury, the Packers secured a victory, with backup Malik Willis stepping in and completing 4-of-5 passes for 56 yards and a touchdown.
Willis has performed well this season, maintaining a perfect record as a starter. However, the Packers’ reliance on a strong running game and a defensive strategy that worked against teams like the Indianapolis Colts may be more challenging against tougher opponents like the Detroit Lions and San Francisco 49ers in the upcoming weeks.
Given the uncertainty surrounding Love’s recovery, the Packers are considering adding another quarterback to support Willis and third-stringer Sean Clifford. Fields, who was previously with the Chicago Bears and recently traded to the Steelers, could be a viable option. Despite being demoted in favor of Russell Wilson, Fields had a strong performance earlier in the season, recording 10 total touchdowns and just one interception. He is currently in the final year of his rookie contract.
