“Don’t Be Fooled” – Sutton’s Warning to Brendan Rodgers and Celtic

Before their Champions League match at Celtic Park on November 5, Chris Sutton has cautioned Celtic not to underestimate RB Leipzig.

Leipzig, who share the Bundesliga title with Bayern Munich, is a formidable opponent that shouldn’t be ignored, according to Sutton, despite their unexpectedly low number of points in the league thus far.

Leipzig’s ability is demonstrated by their close losses to Atletico Madrid, Juventus, and Liverpool, and Sutton thinks their desire to remain in the tournament will make them a formidable foe for Celtic when they visit Glasgow in a little more than a week.

Sutton noted in The Daily Record that Leipzig’s relentless pressing style caused problems for even Liverpool throughout their match. Celtic’s usual expansive style may be challenged by this high-energy approach, and Sutton counsels Brendan Rodgers to adjust appropriately to keep Leipzig’s media from catching him off guard.

“Don’t let the Germans’ lack of points deceive you. They still have excellent players, and their tenacious press gave Liverpool a lot of trouble early in their midweek match. On a few times, Arne Slot’s squad was detected, but they avoided punishment. Rodgers will examine that closely. Naturally, there is more pressure to succeed at home, but even though it is great and broad versus Slovan Bratislava, it might need to be scaled back.
