The San Francisco 49ers are undoubtedly going through a difficult time, and things have only gotten worse. Deebo Samuel was admitted to the hospital with pneumonia one day after suffering a heartbreaking loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in Santa Clara.
The star receiver’s current condition is unclear, and the only information that has been released thus far is that there is no estimated return date. The veteran wide receiver was expected to play despite being ill even prior to the matchup with the reigning two-time Super Bowl champions.
Television cameras captured Samuel utilising oxygen during the first quarter of the game, and he emerged in civilian clothing during the second half. It’s unclear what his present situation is, but circumstances in Santa Clara are becoming difficult.
The fact that Brandon Aiyuk will be out for the remainder of the season due to surgery for a torn ACL and MCL in his right knee makes the news concerning Deebo Samuel much worse.
Christian McCaffrey is likely to play two weeks after this Sunday’s game against the Dallas Cowboys, although head coach Kyle Shanahan stated that he would be shocked if he did.
