Lachlan McAndrew, a ruck, has been delisted by Sydney, and two young Swans have been given fresh one-year contracts for 2025.
Despite playing two AFL games in 2023, McAndrew, a 210-cm giant, has mostly played at the VFL level since joining the Swans from the club’s youth.
In the ruck hierarchy, he lagged behind Peter Ladhams and Brodie Grundy this year.
This off-season, the Swans have already delisted Cooper Vickery, Harry Arnold, and Jaiden Magor. On Wednesday, Luke Parker and Jacob Konstanty were moved to North Melbourne, and Sam Reid retired. Tom Hanily, a small forward, and Caleb Mitchell, an outside runner, have both agreed to one-year contracts.
Mitchell, who was selected with pick 40 in the 2022 selection, participated in two senior games this season against Richmond and West Coast. Hanily was selected earlier this year in the mid-season draft, however he has yet to make his AFL debut. Following Konstanty’s arrival to the Roos this week, Hanily was kept as a small forward.
