Current Tottenham transfer tidings: Archie Gray is expected to arrive in the same week that Ange Postecoglou received a £118 million summer transfer package.
A significant transfer update has been sent to Tottenham sports director Johan Lange and Ange Postecoglou, with the club’s second summer addition anticipated to be announced shortly. The Lilywhites are about to introduce Archie Gray, their first permanent addition, after previously announcing Timo Werner’s return for a second loan stay.
Timo Werner loan to Tottenham Hotspur again
The Leeds United player appeared to be headed to Brentford, but Spurs intervened after their offer was turned down due to its terms.Football.london is aware that Joe Rodon is moving to Elland Road following a productive loan spell at Elland Road last season, suggesting that Gray’s move to Tottenham is becoming closer.
Since Spurs are about to add some cover at full-back and in midfield, they may decide to focus elsewhere, which might result in the departure of more experienced players. Tanguy Ndombele, Ryan Sessegnon, Eric Dier, and Japhet Tanganga have all left, and more are probably on their way.
Interest from overseas in a number of players, such as Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Emerson Royal, already exists, and now it seems Tottenham can finally work towards raising funds through those deals. While the summer transfer window opened in England on June 14, the trading periods in Italy, Germany, Spain and France all remained shut until July 1.
With that date now upon us, exits can start to be sanctioned, with Emerson AC Milan heavily linked to Emerson in a €20million (£17m) move. Hojbjerg, meanwhile, who Spurs value at £25million, still has interest from Atletico Madrid with Napoli, under former manager Antonio Conte, another potential destination.
Giovani Lo Celso and Djed Spence are also expected to be sold this summer, with Genoa keen on bringing the latter back to Italy, though the £8.4million asking price is proving to be a stumbling block. Though Tottenham look set to welcome their second addition of the summer, it is highly unlikely Postecoglou and Lange are done there.
