Tottenham’s transfer interest in Real Madrid’s 24-year-old star is rejected.
Tottenham Hotspur has reportedly spoken with Real Madrid about the possibility of acquiring Brahim Diaz during the summer transfer window, according to a Foot Mercato report. Ange Postecoglou can see Brahim making the transition from the Spanish metropolis to the English capital as a player to look up to.
The former Celtic manager, though, can move on quickly. The report adds that Real Madrid were quick to clarify that Brahim Diaz is not for sale at any price, essentially putting him as an untouchable this summer. Before the 2024–2025 season, Carlo Ancelotti is reportedly considering upgrading Brahim Diaz’s squad role, which would mean he will spend a lot more time with the first team than he is used to.
Last season, Brahim Diaz made 18 starts in La Liga, which is pretty impressive. He was mostly a super-sub but as demonstrated, he proved his worth to Ancelotti enough to make him a starter in some matches. That said, he will envision more consistent starts next season, even despite the new star-studded arrivals.
As a player who is versatile enough to play anywhere in the midfield and front-line, Brahim will be there to step up to the mark in case of injuries, suspensions or general squad rotation. Hence, he is important enough to Real Madrid for Carlo Ancelotti to reject Tottenham’s advances.
