According to insiders who spoke to Football Insider, Tottenham has no intention of giving in to Real Madrid or any other team hoping to lure star defender Cristian Romero away this summer.

Senior journalist Pete O’Rourke stated on the most recent episode of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast that Spurs would only consider selling the Argentina international if they received a “astronomical” price, and even then, it would be quite unlikely.

Romero has been linked to Real Madrid after putting up strong displays in north London since joining from Atalanta three years ago in a deal worth £42.5 million.

Since joining Tottenham on loan in 2021–2022 and becoming a permanent fixture at the end of that campaign, Romero has established himself as a key member of the defense.

In addition to picking up seven yellow cards and one sent off during the season, the Argentine started all 34 of his games for Spurs last year and scored five goals.

The defender, who is now traveling with Argentina for the Copa America, is anticipated to play for Postecoglou’s team the following year.
